2009 was an incredible year. One of my highlights was speaking at the Powered by Me! Conference with Nick Markakis, and Senator Elijah Cummings. I gave a lecture on how High School Students can Enhance Performance through smart exercise selection, sleep, and smart nutrition. It was a great event, thanks goes out to St. Joseph Medical Center, Powered By Me! (www.poweredbymemd.com), and the Director Mike Kimball.
It was also during 2009 that I became part of the EFI Sports Medicine & Total Gym family. I traveled out to California to spend time with Tom & Joy Companaro and the rest of the Trainers. It is great to be part of this Organization and teaching classes for them for Personal Training, Group Fitness, and Post Rehabilitation. The Total Gym played a huge part in my rehab from various shoulder, and knee injuries. Check out http://www.efisportsmedicine.com/gravity-clubhouse/ and sign up for Free Updates!
It was July of 2009 that I found myself in California again for CHEK Practitioner Level 3 Training with Paul Chek. This was 8 days of in depth studying learning Paul’s Totem Pole system of evaluation and correction. This class prepares you to work with people with temporomandibular joint dysfunction, cervical issues, and shoulder program. We also learned the emotional and mental connections to why people don’t heal.
This experience was so wonderful, it has been an unbelievable journey to reach this point. Learning a “Wholistic” system from which to help others has been so rewarding.
It would like to know more about the CHEK Institute, or What a CHEK Practitioner is please check out this link http://www.chekinstitute.com/Professionals
In August, to my surprise, I was won Baltimore’s Best In-Home Personal Trainer Award. I was like WHAAATTT!! This was very exciting news and a great way to continue through 2009.
2009 was a great year. I completed training as a Neurosomatic Therapist, Gravity Master Trainer/Post Rehabilitation Specialist, and finished CHEK Practitioner Level 3 training. To continue through 2009 I got news that I will speaking at the US Lacrosse Convention in January. I will be speaking on “Scientific Sports Performance, & Keys to Nutrition and Lifestyle”
I look forward to 2010… A Vacation with J, hopefully to somewhere warm and sunny : ) CHEK Practitioner Level 4 Training in January, and whatever else comes my way….
Thanks for reading my FIRST POST.. Stop back for more to come.
Cheers
